Anthony Davis had his best game of the postseason, but it was his rebounding that put the Blue Jays ahead in the series.
Davis’ rebounding game led the Jays to a 17-7 lead in the second quarter, and it was not long before the Blue Jay lead was up to a 21-5 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, the Jays had a seven-point lead on a Davis dunk over the Cavaliers’ Chris Andersen, and the Blue Jackets made it 21-8 on a Jonas Jerebko 3-pointer.
In overtime, Davis had a three-point play to tie it at 22.
The Jays held a commanding 21-9 advantage in points in the fourth quarter, but the Blue Jacket led by as many as 20 points in a four-minute span in the first overtime period.
In Game 2, the Blue Jets had a 21, 16, 15, 14, 13, 10 lead heading into the final two minutes of the fourth period.
Davis went to the bench in the third overtime, and his absence didn’t hurt the Blue Jags’ chances of winning Game 2.
In fact, it made the Jays even better defensively.
The Blue Jays went to a 14-8 rebounding advantage in the game, including 12 offensive rebounds.
The Raptors’ bench outscored the Jays 19-10 in the extra period.
The series between the two teams has a 5-2 record and the Jays are on pace to win the series for the first time since 2009.
